Private banking and wealth management

AI in private banking, without exposing your clients or banking secrecy

Building an onboarding file, preparing a compliance note, drafting a mandate, yes, but never by pasting client data into a public AI.

Your reality

Identities, controlling persons, personal wealth, special instructions: your files hold what the bank has a duty to keep confidential. Pasted into a consumer AI without a data-processing agreement, they leave your control; banking secrecy and data-protection rules still hold you responsible.

You and your colleagues already use AI to write. The point is not to ban it, but to set what goes into the tool and what never does.

What this costs you
  • Onboarding files sent back by compliance because a document is missing or a beneficial owner is not identified
  • Notes on an exposed client written in a rush, which nobody else can proofread
  • Management agreements copied from a template, silent on the client’s own limits and instructions
  • Client data pasted into public AIs, beyond any control by the bank
The Palambur Method in action

See for yourself

A prompt structured in 5 blocks: Instruction · Role and audience · Data · Constraints · Format. An unframed AI invents; the frame stops it.

In a workshop, we adapt these prompts to your institution, each with its safeguards: no client data goes into a public AI.

Size L

Opening · complete file

A prospect has agreed after the first meeting and you must build the file before opening the account. This prompt checks each document, separates the person who signs from the person who controls, and says what is missing and what that blocks, so that no account is used with an incomplete file.

Size XL

PEP client · heightened risk

A prospect or client holds or has held a public function, or is close to someone who does, and compliance asks for your file before validating. This prompt produces the note that an expert third party can proofread and that senior management can rule on, without the adviser deciding in its place.

Size XL

Wealth management mandate

A client entrusts their wealth to discretionary management. You are the adviser or manager and must draft the agreement and the investment statement before signature. The bank’s template says nothing about this client’s own limits or particular instructions. This prompt delivers a draft agreement and a statement that the client understands and that the legal team reads without redoing everything.

Size XL

Client abroad

A prospect or client lives outside the bank’s country, is moving or travelling, and you want to offer them a product or a meeting. Before the first offer, compliance will ask where they are, which service is envisaged and what the bank is allowed to do in their country. This prompt produces a funnel check, the list of what to verify at the bank and in the client’s country, and the decision to validate with compliance: continue, limit or refuse.

Size XL

Independent manager · organization

You are setting up or structuring your wealth management firm and you must know what you need before managing a client’s first euro. This prompt produces the firm’s organization plan: form, authorization, membership of a supervisory body, internal rules, conduct and documentation rules, timetable of steps and the list of documents to provide.

30 use cases cover your line of work in the Chaptal catalog, out of 750+ in the corpus · each one states what it produces, what it expects from you, and what it refuses to do.

F.A.Q.

Frequently asked questions

Can I paste client data into an AI without breaching banking secrecy?

Not as is. Without a data-processing agreement and without the bank’s approval, what you paste leaves your control, and confidentiality can suffer. You anonymize first, or you paste nothing; every catalog card repeats this safeguard.

Can AI decide whether I should accept a politically exposed client?

No. It structures the note, lists the clarifications to obtain and frames the risk, but the decision belongs to compliance and senior management. The adviser does not decide in their place.

Does the AI know my bank’s rules and my supervisor’s requirements?

It asks the right questions and structures the approach, but your internal directives and the rules that apply to your institution stay in your hands. The AI helps you apply them, and validation stays human.

Is a file or an agreement drafted with AI acceptable?

It remains a draft. The prompt prepares a text the client understands and that legal or compliance proofreads, but the bank validates and signs, as with any other document.

Do I need a large bank for this to be worthwhile?

No. A lone adviser, a regional bank or an independent manager benefits first, because files, notes and agreements rest on few shoulders. The catalog prompts are used as they are, with no technical setup.
